Thing 15 Social networking

Social networking would be very useful for libraries as this is where the students are, and the best way to connect with, and get the information they need, to them.  So professionally it really would be most effective.  On a personal note I like to use facebook to connect with my kids and with friends.  The downside to social networking, on a social level, is the vast amount of lame entries that people feel compelled to input.  Do we really care if someone has their towels folded, or if someone is going for a nap now...?  Being current on a social network is great, but sometimes it's just too ...current!
