Thing 23 - This is it!
I'm so glad that I was able to take part in this program. At times it was a bit frustrating to learn to use these things, and it definitely took me out of my comfort zone sometimes, but all in all it was great. A very useful and beneficial learning experience that, I hope, will help to keep me current. Thank you to all involved. Now, let's eat some cake!
Things 21 & 22
I've never used Wordle or LibraryThing before, or even heard of them, so this was definitely fun to learn about. The only problem I had was that my computer wouldn't let me create a wordle on it, and I wasn't able to fix the problem, so I had to find another computer to use.
Things 19 & 20
Online mapping is very cool, and fun to use. This is something I've never heard of before, so I enjoyed learning how to use it. I've used Google Earth before, and it is great.

Things 17 & 18
Whew! These things were very easy to do! Both are useful - the widget would certainly be useful when working on a group project.

Twitter - Thing 16
Okay, so I am very excited about learning how to use twitter. I keep hearing about following things on twitter, and now I can actually follow Q on CBC, or keep up on politics and the upcoming election. On a professional level it could help a person keep current, and save time doing it. Most useful in the library world!

Thing 15 Social networking
Social networking would be very useful for libraries as this is where the students are, and the best way to connect with, and get the information they need, to them. So professionally it really would be most effective. On a personal note I like to use facebook to connect with my kids and with friends. The downside to social networking, on a social level, is the vast amount of lame entries that people feel compelled to input. Do we really care if someone has their towels folded, or if someone is going for a nap now...? Being current on a social network is great, but sometimes it's just too ...current!
Thing 14 Flickr

This is the shot I chose from Flickr by TQ9kite . I don't what it is...it's just pretty.
I can see the value of Flickr, and I admit that I've enjoyed viewing other peoples' photos online. I still prefer my photos in a more concrete form - it's the luddite in me. Here is the link for this photo: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tq9kite/5588984560/
